With the commencement of DLF IPL 2012, Season 5 begins the era of Twenty Twenty Cricket ( T20 Cricket ) in world Cricket. Soon after the completion of the DLF IPL, the T20 Battle takes an international ground. 12 teams from all around the globe battle it out for the supreme position in T20 cricket. The ICC T20 World cup is scheduled this September in the beautiful coastal lands of Sri Lanka. This will be the 4th Edition of the ICC T20 World Cup. The Opening Game will be played on 18th September between the host nation Sri Lanka & Zimbabwe. The Final will be contested at the R.Premadasa Stadium In colombo on 7th October. Following from the previous events, even this ICC T20 world cup has 12 teams Divided in a group of three. The four groups for the ICC T20 world Cup is as follows.
Group A : India , England & Afghanistan
Group B : Australia , West Indies & Ireland
Group C : South Africa, Sri Lanka & Zimbabwe
Group D : New Zealand, Pakistan & Bangladesh
After the 12 League Matches, 1 Team from each group will be eliminated. The remaining 8 Teams battle it out for the super 8 stage, leading to semi-finals and then the finals.
